Practical exercises with LabVIEW simulators

Exercise

In the folder: https://study.engined.eu/mod/folder/view.php?id=767 you will find 4 simulators of impedance measuring devices:

  • Q-meter (which measures impedance using the resonant method),
  • C-bridge (which measures impedance using the bridge method),
  • LC meter (which measures impedance using the technical method with constant frequency),
  • Motech (which measures impedance with a few frequencies selectable).

Exercises:

a) Measure the impedance and Q-factor of 4 capacitors and 1 inductor per Q-meter.

b) Measure the impedance and \( tan \delta \) of the 4 capacitors on the C-bridge.

c) Measure the impedance and loss parameter:  \(R_s\) or G of 4 capacitors and 1 coil on the LC meter.

d) Measure the impedance, self inductance and capacity of the inductor for 5 frequencies: 100 Hz, 1kHz, 10kHz, 100kHz, 200kHz on the Motech device. Plot the impedance module |Z| versus the frequency common logarithm ( log10(f) ).

To compare the obtained values, determine the capacitances and Q values of the capacitors, and determine the inductance and Q factor of the unknown coil. Are the values consistent within the measurement uncertainty?
